Spellbound Sundays
Weekly Writing Update 👩🏻💻
I did make some progress on Incubus Daydreams this week, but not enough. I also made additional progress on the website. I’m finding my website to be a good place to store information and organize lore, which has been helpful for writing.
I’ve also decided to hire a house cleaner one time per month. I think this will help my mental and physical health greatly. I never thought this would be in my budget, but I’m gonna give it a try. I’m also going back to Hellofresh. I’ve been spending way too much money on takeout and delivery. I’ve used Hellofresh before and loved it, even though it’s much cheaper to grocery shop myself. But I HATE grocery shopping so it’s worth it.
I don’t know why I keep procrastinating my writing. Probably because writing is hard 🫠
Weekly Art Update 🎨
I’ve practiced drawing for 9 days in a row! If only I could do that with my writing 😅 I spend 10-20 minutes with a beginner drawing book. I’m working up to an hour each day. I so wanna draw and paint my own characters and worlds!
I used to draw and paint as a kid and stopped once I left for college. It’s been mostly fun to get back to, though I struggle with drawing cubes 😭
Upcoming Week 📝
Finish writing Incubus Daydreams by Sunday 12/7
Continue daily drawing practice
Continue building lore on website
I’m trying not to get down on myself for not meeting my weekly goals, but also acknowledging that slow progress is progress.
My efforts to break my phone addiction continue. I don’t miss TikTok or Instagram or Facebook but my brain is still looking for that scrolling dopamine hit and has remembered that YouTube is also social media. So now I’m trying to keep that at bay. My brain just wants my phone in my hand no matter what! It’s crazy.
I’m slowing working on it though. It’s one of the reasons I got back into drawing. Between drawing and writing I hope to slowly completely break my phone addiction and make actual progress spending my time doing things I actually wanna do.
Baby steps.
Until next time,
Lilly
